Security Training Passports
After working in the security industry some people choose to pass on their knowledge and skills and become a trainer themselves. We offer a combination of relevant qualifications to enable you to do just that If you have already worked within the security industry for a number of years and are now looking to step into a trainer role most organisations will require you to have the relevant qualifications.

Wilplan offer two packages to assist you in your transition:

Security Training Passport 1 combines the following two courses:

City & Guilds 6302 Award Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)
This course provides an introduction for those who would like to train or teach as a career or for those already delivering in house training. This qualification is very often the minimum requirement by companies for both contracted and freelance trainers. The course is 4 days in duration with some pre-course reading and evening work required.

City & Guilds 2886 Level 3 Certificate for Deliverers of Conflict Management Training
This qualification is essential for those who want to teach the Conflict Management element of the SIA Security Qualifications as an SIA Security Trainer. Candidates must have a minimum of a 6302 PTLLS (previously known as the 7303) qualification or equivalent to attend this 3 day course.

Security Training Passport 2 includes both of the above courses plus the additional following course:

Physical Intervention Tutors Qualification
Fully accepted by leading organisations including the Security Industry Authority (S.I.A.) the Physical Intervention Tutors programme is approved for use with the new SIA licence-linked qualifications. Trainers successful in achieving this 5 day, level 3 tutor training course will be able to deliver the Physical Intervention award for the new Door Supervisors (level 2) qualification and will themselves hold a level 3 qualification in delivering physical intervention training.

What are the entry requirements?
Students would need to be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.

How long is the course?
The 6302 module is completed over 4 days with pre-course reading and some evening work

The 2886 module is completed overf 3 days with a pre-course assignment and some evening work

The Physical Intervention Tutors module should you be undertaking Passport 2 is completed over 5 days with evening reading.

Course Fees:
The course can be undertaken on either a residential or non-residential basis and the fees are as follows:

Non Residential Passport 1: £690.00 plus VAT including assessment, examination and certification fees.

Non Residential Passport 2: £1480.00 plus VAT including assessment, examination and certification fees.

Accommodation for Residential Option*:

Single rooms are available at £57.00 per person per night including VAT for bed, full breakfast and a three course evening meal.

Also included is free wireless internet in all bedrooms and communal areas together with full use of the Health, Fiitness & Leisue Club for the duration of your stay. Further details can be found on our "Residential Options" page.

*Please note that if opting for funding under the ELCAS scheme then the accommodation cannot be included as part of your claim. You may however be able to claim this under alternative funding. Please contact us for further details.
