Security Industry Authority (SIA) Requirements

Applying For Your SIA Licence
Our bodyguard courses meet the necessary requirements for SIA criteria, meaning you can be sure of not only having the right skills for the job but that in passing our course you may then apply for your SIA close protection licence, which proves that you are qualified and eligible to apply for work.

In order to apply for an SIA licence to work as a Close Protection Officer, the Security Industry Authority (S.I.A) has set a minimum guideline for training and therefore you will first need to attend and pass the Level 3 Certificate in Close Protection before being granted a licence. You will also need to pass the BTEC Level 2 Award in First Person on Scene Intermediate, regardless or any other previous medical skills or qualifications. Fortunately, this course is included as part of our Close Protection packages.

We recommend that you request your application pack prior to attending the course. Whilst we cannot complete the form for you we can offer guidance if needed.

The licence process includes a criminality check for any relevant criminal convictions within the last 5 years. To find out if this may affect your application we suggest using the SIA criminality wizard prior to deciding to attend the course.

Visit the SIA Web site to apply for your S.I.A licence application pack.
