BTEC Level 2 Award in Vehicle Immobilisation
The Vehicle Immobiliser (Wheel Clamping) has had bad publicity over the years however it is an essential requirement for many establishments that have difficulty with car park enforcement. Our dedicated trainer is both highly experienced in this field and also other aspects of parking enforcement. By passing on first hand experience of the industry requirements we have been able to highlight the importance of professionalism within this sector which can often be extremely diverse and rewarding.
Who is the course for?
For those currently working, or wishing to begin work as a vehicle immobiliser (wheel clamper) On successful completion of the course and passing the required examinations delegates will be able to apply for an SIA licence to work as a vehicle immobiliser (wheel clamper).

What are the entry requirements?
There are none however basic levels of English literacy and numeracy are assumed. You must also be able to provide proof of Identification and proof of address as per SIA guidelines. Please click here to see acceptable forms of Identification.
How long is the course?
4 Days.
What does the course involve?
Delegates must complete and pass both units 1 and 2 as outlined below. Success will achieve a level 2 award in Vehicle Immobilisation and allow delegates to apply for their SIA licence.

- Introduction to wheel clamping and removals
- Introduction to the legislation relating to vehicle immobilising (Private Security Industry Act 2001) and the tools used to immobilise a vehicle
- Signs, lines and enforcement vehicles
- Vehicle registration marks
- Health and Safety
- When to clamp and when to remove vehicles
- Vehicle tow away
- Completing paperwork
- Practical case studies (clamping, removal and paperwork)
- Use of photography
- The payment process
- Procedures for start and end of shift
- Radio operations
- Discretionary parking
- Standards of individual behaviour for vehicle immobilisers and customer care
