The Vehicle Immobiliser (Wheel Clamping) has had bad publicity over the years however it is an essential requirement for many establishments that have difficulty with car park enforcement. Our dedicated trainer is both highly experienced in this field and also other aspects of parking enforcement. By passing on first hand experience of the industry requirements we have been able to highlight the importance of professionalism within this sector which can often be extremely diverse and rewarding.

Who is the course for?
For those currently working, or wishing to begin work as a vehicle immobiliser (wheel clamper) On successful completion of the course and passing the required examinations delegates will be able to apply for an SIA licence to work as a vehicle immobiliser (wheel clamper).

What are the entry requirements?
No previous knowledge or training is required however basic levels of English literacy and numeracy are assumed. You must also be able to provide proof of Identification and Proof of address as per SIA guidelines. Please Click here to see acceptable forms of Identification. The course does involve some manual handling and fitting of clamping equipment and you should be free from any injury that may prevent you undertaking the training.

How long is the course?
4 Days.

What does the course involve?
Delegates must complete and pass both units 1 and 2 as outlined below. Success will achieve a level 2 award in Vehicle Immobilisation and allow delegates to apply for their SIA licence.

Unit 1 Working in the Private Security Industry

  • Introduction to the Security Industry
  • Legislation relevant to the Private Security Industry
  • Health and Safety at Work
  • Fire Safety
  • Emergency Procedures
  • Communication skills and Customer Car in the Private Security Industry

Unit 2 Working as a Vehicle Immobiliser

  • law and standards relating to vehicle immobilisation and removal
  • signage and information relating to vehicle immobilisation and removal
  • Immobilising, removing and relocating vehicles
  • When to immobilise, remove and relocate vehicles
  • Uses of technology and record keeping in vehicle immobilisation and removal
  • Payments and appeals in vehicle immobilisation and removal

Unit 3 Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry

  • Recognising and Assessing risk
  • Communication Skills
  • De-escalating conflict situations
  • Resolving conflict
  • Post incident considerations

Course Fees
The course can be undertaken on either a residential or non-residential basis and the fees are as follows:

Non Residential: £300 plus VAT including examination and certification fees.

Accommodation for Residential Option:

Twin Rooms are available at £40.00 per person per night and is inclusive of VAT

Single Rooms are available at £49.95 per person per night and is inclusive of VAT
